无主之地2 Mac版是Mac OS平台上一款RPG风格合作第一人称射击游戏，在《无主之地2》中的AI将会比一代有明显进步，敌人不再是一盘散沙。比如机器人会互相照顾，盗贼会爆发火拼;某些带有元素属性的生物(比如Fire Skag)会对该元素免疫，而一群没有元素属性的Skag小崽子在一只Fire Skag的激励下会变形为Fire Skag幼崽，它们将完全继承来自Fire Skag的元素属性。第二代游戏仍然扮演来自前作的自定义英雄，同时引入了名为“圣安德列斯风格”的升级系统。并且该作取消在线多人模式，支持合作模式。在苹果商店可以下载正版游戏，当前售价128元。

《无主之地2》并没有采取《暗黑3》那种独立的战利品掉落方式，所以在本作中要想拿到好装备，要么跟队友商量好，要么眼疾手快点。 如果玩家希望让自己的角色变得更加个性，那么本作新加入的“坏蛋排名(Badass Ranking)”系统绝对让你满意。

游戏中内置了许多有趣的挑战，比如使用某种武器爆头杀掉一定数目的怪物，或者打开一定数目的宝箱。在完成这些挑战之后，将会获得代币奖励用以提升人物的某种属性，比如弹夹更换速度，后坐力以及武器伤害。虽然每个代币可增加的属性非常小，不过量变是可以引起质变的。此外，最棒的地方就在于，属性奖励是账号共享的。
